WE RECCOMMEND THAT YOU DOWNLOAD AND PLAY THE DOWNLOADABLE VERSION. You will be given an overall score after 3 'waves'. This is the end, it does not end nicely as we ran out of time. There is a bug in the counting so expect some dodgy maths in the scoring.

If playing on the web with firefox you may need to ctrl+tab to another tab to quite as itch.io takes over control. You may also not be able to access the pause menu.

With AI data centres gobbling up as much power as they can get their greedy little mittens on. You are the last line of defences against the dark in the small town of Aurstin (chosen for its low tax not it's reliable grid).

From your control room you are in charge of the 4 transformers that make up the town. It's your job to ensure that the generator is kept running and any blown fuses are replaced. The town's lights can also be individually controlled to save energy.

The main weapon you have against the dark (not that scary in my opinion) is your control panel. Acessing the panel you can see the town below.

  • Move with W,A,S,D and click on points of interest to find out more.
  • Clicking on a transformer will show you the load and current state of the fuse.
  • Clicking on a house will show you the current occupants and where they may be travelling too. It will also indicate when they are set to leave.

You are also in charge of the fuseboard. The transformers are known for blowing their fuses occasionally.  It is up to you to replace them. Exit your terminal using the button in the top left and find the blown fuse.

We aren't made of money so feel free to re-use fuses, there is no safety issue with that I'm sure. Pick them up by interacting with them (Mouse 1) and replace them in the required slots.

When a fuse is blown you will need to restart the transformer with the levers nearby. Just interact with the levers as required.

Finally the generator must be kept running if the town is to stay powered. Take fuel from the fuel shoots and put them in the generator. You will need to restart it if it stops (also required to start it at the beginning of each shift). Please see corporate training notice for more information.

If you let the residents spend too much time in the dark they are sure to complain (they all seem so scared of the dark) so make sure the lights are kept on. Now go out there and have fun. Work is supposed to be fun, right? Good.
